As we’ve progressed more chords were added to your repertoire. We can now play major chords, minor chords and seventh chords.

As you practice, listen to the variations in the sounds and moods these chords produce.

In Lesson 8 we learned that all major chords consist of the 1st, 3rd, 5th notes of a major scale. When we strum the guitar playing a major chord we are only playing 3 notes regardless of how many strings we are strumming.

Now we will alter our basic positions to form the minor chords from the 3 Basic Positions.
